Nur Clock is private by design: the clock works fully offline and you never need an account to use it. This policy explains the small amount of information nurclock.com handles when you buy from us, contact us, chat with us or join our newsletter, and what we do with it.

Who we are

Nur Clock is a product of NILETULIP SOLUTIONS LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15923557), registered office 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX. NILETULIP SOLUTIONS LTD is the data controller for information collected through nurclock.com. If you have any question about your information, email support@nurclock.com.

The clock itself

You can set up and use Nur Clock without signing up, creating an account or giving us any personal details. Prayer times are worked out on the clock for the location you choose. If you connect it to Wi-Fi, the clock goes online only for the features that need it, such as streaming reciters, live streams and radio, and checking for software updates.

What we collect on nurclock.com, and why

  • When you buy from us: your name, email address, delivery and billing address, and phone number if you give it, plus what you ordered. We use these to take payment, deliver your order, send order emails and handle returns and warranty claims. You can check out as a guest; we don’t create an account for you.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe, including Apple Pay and Google Pay. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach us. Stripe may use cookies and device information on the checkout to prevent fraud. See Stripe’s privacy policy.
  • When you contact us: through the contact form or by email, we receive your name, email address, your message and anything you attach (such as a photo of your clock). We use them only to reply and help you. The form sends your message to us by email and sends you a copy; it isn’t stored on the website.
  • Newsletter: if you subscribe in the footer or at checkout, we keep your email address in our newsletter system (MailPoet, on our own website) and send you a confirmation email first. We only email you about Nur Clock, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • Live chat: if you start a chat using the chat button, we receive your messages and any name or email address you give, so we can reply. The chat is run by Chatway, which also remembers your browser so a conversation carries on as you move between pages.
  • “Was this helpful?” on help articles counts Yes and No answers. It doesn’t record who you are.
  • Bought on Amazon? Amazon handles your order and your details under its own privacy notice. We don’t receive your payment details.

Our legal basis

We use your information to perform our contract with you (your order, delivery, returns and warranty), because we have a legitimate interest in answering your questions and keeping our records, to meet legal obligations such as keeping tax records, and with your consent for the newsletter, analytics and advertising cookies, which you can withdraw at any time.

Cookies

nurclock.com sets a few cookies that the site needs to work. We don’t ask for consent for these, because the site can’t work without them:

  • basket and checkout cookies, which remember what’s in your basket (WooCommerce);
  • Stripe’s fraud-prevention cookies, on the checkout only;
  • a cookie that remembers your cookie choices (CookieYes);
  • sign-in cookies, only if you log in to a WordPress account (for example, our staff).

Other cookies are set only if you accept them in the cookie banner:

  • Live chat (Chatway): remembers your browser so a chat carries on between pages and visits.
  • Analytics (Google Analytics): counts visits and how people find and use the site, so we can improve it. See Google’s privacy policy.
  • Advertising (Google Ads): tells us when someone who came from our Google ads visits the site or joins the waitlist.
  • Advertising (TikTok Pixel): tells us when someone who came from our TikTok ads visits the site or joins the waitlist, so we can see which ads work. TikTok may link this to your TikTok account. See TikTok’s privacy policy.

Until you choose, Google’s tags run in a limited mode that doesn’t store analytics or advertising cookies. The full list of cookies is in our Cookie policy. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page, and your browser lets you block or delete cookies too, although the basket and checkout won’t work without the necessary ones.

Who we share it with

We share your information only with the services we need to run the shop and the website, and only what they need:

  • Stripe, to take payment;
  • Chatway, which runs our live chat;
  • Google, for analytics and ads, as set out in your cookie choices;
  • TikTok, only if you accept advertising cookies;
  • CookieYes, which runs the cookie banner and records your choice;
  • our delivery company, your name, address and phone number, to deliver your order;
  • our website host and email delivery service, which store the website and send its emails on our behalf.

We never sell your information. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, they use the safeguards UK data protection law requires.

How long we keep it

  • Orders and invoices: 6 years, as UK tax law requires.
  • Messages to support: as long as we need to help you, and no longer than 2 years after your last message.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. Unconfirmed sign-ups are removed.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it in a portable format. Email support@nurclock.com and we’ll reply within one month. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

nurclock.com isn’t aimed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If we change how we use your information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
